Okay granted it’s only June and there is still many days to go before 2017 is over, but I can honestly say this Cinnamon Naked Cake with Milk Tart Buttercream is the yummiest cake I’ve eaten in a long time.
I came across the recipe a while back on the The Pretty Blog and had to try it. Not only did the recipe intrigue me with its milk tart filling but it looked oh so pretty.
I have made this cake twice and besides Eli (there has always got to be one) everyone loves the cake. The cinnamon, vanilla sponge is moist and not too sweet and the milk tart buttercream is so light and creamy (I guess that happens when you add 250 grams of butter to the mix). It’s basically a cake version of a milk tart, which in my opinion is a match made in heaven.
So if you are looking for a cake for a special occasion and want to wow your guests with something a little different to a chocolate or vanilla cake, this cake is a must.
